I was born and raised in Northern California, but have resided in the beautiful state of Kentucky since 2002 with my wonderful husband, our energetic son, a crazy cat, and one rambunctious Boxer...oh yeah, and let me not forget our egg-laying hens. With that said, there is never a dull moment at our house. I love spending time with my family, gardening, canning, and cooking. I am blessed beyond measure because God has put the most amazing family and friends in my life who have taught me, supported me, and who have led by example.
I have been an educator for 19 years, both in California and Kentucky. Though I have taught 1st through 5th, I am currently teaching 3rd grade and loving it! I have been fortunate to be an elementary ELA Cadre Leader for my school district, which has provided me with many opportunities to dig deeper into common core standards & curriculum and to network with so many awesome people.
During my educational journey, I've been fortunate to work with the most incredible individuals (both past and present). I am thankful for each and every one of these colleagues and mentors, as they continue to influence my teaching today.
My passion is curriculum and turning ideas into tangible learning experiences for my students. I love networking with teachers and sharing ideas & resources. I believe the most incredible resources and support we have, are each other.
I have begun a new chapter in this journey: creating and publishing teaching resources. I’m am so thankful to TeachersPayTeachers for providing a go-to place where I can find valuable materials made by other teachers, and to share resources I have made that have worked well for my students. I highly suggest to any teacher who loves designing curriculum tools to explore this incredible opportunity. More importantly, sellers become to be part of the TpT community where teaching support is unmatched by any other website. The seller’s forum is a place where many educators share their knowledge, expertise and experience regarding the many challenges teachers face in their classroom, as well as outside their classroom.
